Cloisonné Jewelry

Each piece of our Bamboo Cloisonné Jewelry is handcrafted from .925 sterling silver, fine braided wire, and enamel powders. The enamel powders are transformed into colorful translucent glass when applied to a design's silver foundation and then fired in a kiln.

Bamboo Jewelry is unique. Unlike most cloisonné jewelry, Bamboo Jewelry often uses multicolor blending to depict three dimensional contours. It is also very rare for cloisonné color cells to be crafted from fine braided wire, but Bamboo Jewelry uses this intricate braided wire fabrication method in every one of its designs. Also, all Bamboo Jewelry is enameled on its reverse side (counter enameling) to add strength and prevent tarnishing.

Each piece of Bamboo Jewelry comes packaged in a handcrafted bamboo gift box. Bamboo, while harder than oak or maple, is actually a fast growing grass that can be harvested every three to five years. Each bamboo gift box is lined with anti-tarnish fabric that will keep any silver items stored in the box looking like new for years.

Each piece of jewelry comes with cards providing information about the subject, the artist who created the design, and the environmental benefits of bamboo.

Necklaces have adjustable sterling silver chains (16"-18") with ends finished by a bead or a freshwater pearl.
