Battle Creek, Leila Arboretum Society, and Kingman Museum are partnering
again for the 3rd Annual Making a Difference at Spooky Science Saturday
on October 23, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Each year the group
selects a local charity to collect donated materials for. This
year we are collecting toiletry items for Haven of Rest and Inasmuch
House.

Appreciating Your Natural World
Your youngster can explore the natural world in a fun
and safe environment! It’s “Wild Kingman, Appreciating
Your Natural World,” a one-week long summer day camp for young
nature enthusiasts!

Blue Star Museum Partnership - FREE Admission for Military Families
Kingman Museum to participate in Blue Star Museums program offered
by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Active duty military
personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day
2010 will receive free admission. Kingman Museum is jumpstarting
its participation to begin on May 28, 2010.

Kingman Awarded Federal Grant
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie
Stabenow, both D-Mich., announced a $78,918 federal grant today for
Kingman Museum in Battle Creek. The Institute of Museum and Library
Services grant will be used to enhance the housing for the natural
history and ethnographic collections.

Tooth Stolen from Museum
Kingman recently experienced the theft of a megalodon
shark tooth from its collection.
